Sibling rivalry to unbreakable bonds

They’re always there, your siblings. Leaving messes around the house, forgetting to fill water bottles, or simply squabbling over the tiniest things. But once a year, in the midst of an unorganized room, they sit polished and prepped, with a gift-wrapped haphazardly, complete with a bow tie on top.

Isn’t that the essence of Rakshabandhan?

Once a year you renew the bond with your brother or sister. Remember as children how it was for you: a day before Rakshabandhan, you’re pulling your sister’s hair while she’s scratching your eye out. The next day, you both sit all sanskari with fresh pooja flowers and mithai, rakhi, and gifts.

Now, is it nostalgia or actual love?

We don’t know how you feel about your sibling, but we got some exciting orders that helped us understand the uniqueness of the bond:

Indian ingenuity, even on Rakshabandhan

Here are some real head-scratching orders we did NOT expect:

  • A user in Delhi left us wondering WHAT he was celebrating with an order of a 1 kg gulab jamun tin, 3 packs of diapers, 2 large Coca-Cola bottles, an incense stick packet, 3 different-sized mosquito coils, and one apple.
  • Bangalore’s favourite sibling placed 7 orders featuring rakhis, sweets, and snacks between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Either they had way too many brothers or sisters, or a massive fight beforehand.
  • A user (possibly Kamolika or a similar sinister sibling) from Mumbai ordered a rat kill with 3 types of mithai, a can of Pringles, filtered water, and a rakhi.

From sports days at school to attending weddings where you fuel the family gossip — your sibling’s always there (sometimes annoyingly so!). Hope you gifted your frenemy something spectacular too. If you haven’t yet, we always have something in store!
